Today is a day celebrated by so many, and I would like to extend my best wishes to everyone celebrating Bandi Chhor Divas and Diwali.

For those celebrating Bandi Chhor Divas, it is the ‘Day of Freedom’, where people celebrating the importance of tackling injustice and the solidarity we must share with all those around the world who are struggling right now with unfairness in their lives and how important it is that we stand up for the rights of others.

For those celebrating Diwali, it is the celebration of the festival of light, for good over evil, we can celebrate that inner light that we all have and let it shine and ideals the obstacles we face in our lives and shine on those around us so we can all rise together.

Today’s celebrations can mean different things to different people but the core values of kindness, compassion and the enduring power of light and knowledge to banish darkness and ignorance matter to us all, regardless of our faith or background.
