Working to get a second access route to ease congestion

When developer AC Lloyd applied to build 200 homes at the southern end of Sydenham, residents were concerned. After a previous planning application had failed, earlier this year, permission was given, despite huge opposition.

Cllr Mini Mangat, who campaigned against the development because of the lack of a critical second vehicle access route, says: “We are looking at even more congestion around St Fremund Way, as this is the only way in and out, one access route is simply not sustainable. Of course I want more homes for people locally, but this development isn’t going to
work for anyone as it’s not accessible enough.

“I’m working with leadership at Warwick District Council to find a solution. Recently, we met with Warwickshire County Council, Campion School and AC Lloyd to look for ways forward, so we can support residents who I know are really worried about noise, road safety and air pollution and want us to find a solution.”
