Mini is a Town Councillor for Myton and Heathcote.

“I’m a lifelong resident of Warwick District, a proud member of the Sikh community. I work in healthcare management and as a working mother, I know only too well how hard it is for families to juggle time and budgets.

“Myton and Heathcote now suffers from gridlock much of the time. With so many main roads, the area is a crossroads for people coming in and out of local town centres, from the M40, The Shires, other large local stores or working on the local industrial estates. Aside from terrible congestion, residents in new developments lack the infrastructure they were promised. Schools, shops and local amenities have not been completed, so people are forced to travel for everyday essentials and drive children to school. This means not only frustration but also poor air quality. Sometimes even pavements are unfinished making people totally dependent on cars or taxis, where there is no transport. Air quality and safe routes to school are a big issue for the Myton Road, where so many schools are located. Here I will prioritise cycle lanes and safer routes to school; I want to use my experience of working to solve problems caused by new housing and come up with solutions. I will ensure everything is done to make residents’ lives better: putting people first, and not housing developers.”
