Judith is a Leamington Town Councillor for the Victoria Park ward.

I have lived in the ward for over twenty years and I know the area, many of the people, and the issues which concern us very well.

Some Recent Local Issues

Working closely with the local community, I have campaigned with our Labour MP Matt Western and other groups, to stop the District Council’s expensive new HQ plan, and succeeded in preventing associated plans to turn parts of Victoria Park into commuter parking. I have supported the refurbishment of the Pump Room Gardens and the bandstand, supported grants for Citizens Advice and many other local charities, helped to devise the Local Plan, shortly to be published, designed to protect our environment and to safeguard our beautiful green spaces, and liaised with the police and other stakeholders to keep our town safe.

Future Priorities

My priorities are to provide vigorous objections to the District HQ plan, protect our parks and green spaces, notably Victoria Park, monitor the problems associated with houses of multiple occupation, particularly the issues with household waste, monitor and oppose any more new developments proposed in the area, and do all I can to protect the Town Hall and the library, at present under threat from inappropriate development proposed in the District Council’s Creative Quarter Plans.
